Introduction
This Privacy Statement applies to all SValue software applications, websites and services.
As a general rule, users of our software applications and services are anonymous and we have no practical way to identify you. However, certain categories of data may be collected when using our Apps and Services, some of which may be considered "personal data" by law. When we collect personal data, we generally act as "data controllers" as defined in applicable law. The exact categories of data we collect, the reasons for collecting the data, and your opt-out choices depend on the application or service you use. We will describe it more fully in next sections.
We will show the date the Privacy Statement was last updated to help you know when we change it. If we make material changes to our Privacy Statement, we will notify you of the impending change via our website or using an in-app notification. We encourage you to review this statement periodically.
What information do we collect?
We collect information when you create an account or use the Platform.
When creating an SValue, we may ask for a preferred username and an email address. The email address will be used to identify you as a user and for password recovery. Alternatively, you can use your Facebook, Google+, Twitter, or VK account to access our services with the same profile. In this case, we may collect your name and email address from these social networks. You can delete or modify the submitted data in the profile page. We retain your data for seven days after you have decided to stop using your SValue in case you change your mind. Your SValue account with a verified email address will be deleted automatically if you do not log in for 2 years. Accounts with unverified email addresses will be deleted after 6 months of inactivity.
If you decide to provide feedback to SValue or participate in a promotion, contest or survey organized by SValue or our partners, we may collect your information such as your name, age, phone number, email or postal address.
If you agree to receive marketing communications from SValue via email or push notifications, we may use third-party technology providers to send you such communications. You can opt out of marketing push notifications at any time in your user profile settings or directly from marketing emails you receive.
If you submit your phone number or email address on the app download page, we may send you a download link via text message or email for your convenience.
We will only use this data to provide the services you have requested and will not retain your data for longer than is necessary for that particular purpose. If you do not consent to our use of the submitted data for a limited purpose, please do not provide it to us.
How we use your information?
When you install a SValue app, a random installation ID is generated. We may collect this identifier, along with your device ID and hardware specifications, operating system and environment configuration, and feature usage data.
We use the information for certain legitimate business purposes, namely:
- To understand better how people interact with our applications and services;
- To enhance, modify, customize or otherwise improve our applications and services;
- To determine the effectiveness of promotional campaigns and advertising;
- To detect, debug and fix crashes in our applications and services;
- To prevent security breaches and abuse.
In short, the information helps us improve our products and services. We cannot identify you by using the information.
What’s more, in order to provide you with more relevant news in certain countries and languages, we collect some information about the articles you read in the app's local news and your approximate location. The information is associated with a randomly generated news ID and may be stored on our servers for 1 month.
Personalized advertising
Some of our mobile applications may serve targeted advertising based on an advertising ID and your approximate location. These ads are served by our monetization partners. You can adjust your personalized advertising choices at any time in the app's Settings menu or through your operating system's settings.
We collect this data based on our legitimate business interests. Our app is ad-supported as described in our End User License Agreement and Terms of Service. Collecting this information helps us offset business costs and helps provide a more personalized experience to our users.
Feature-specific data points
Some of our apps use Google's Firebase Authentication to provide a quick and easy authentication service for your user account. To enable this service, you agree to share your email, phone number, user agent string, and device IP address with Google and SValue. All information is required if you want to improve the service. Children's privacy
Without parents’ permission, children may not be able to access our website or use our application. Therefore, we encourage children and their parents to read this Privacy Statement before using our applications and services.
International data transfer
When we collect personal data, it may be transferred to our partners in other countries. Whenever we do this, we require them to ensure that they can provide enough protection in law.
Third Parties
Our Apps and Services include third-party technology or code, some of which may use your data in different ways. When such third-party technologies use previously collected data, they generally act as our data processors. When they collect data themselves, they usually act as independent data controllers.
